Machine Input-Output problems for Bank Exams:

Machine Input-Output Type of questions in reasoning are also scoring topic in IBPS Bank Exams- If we understand the logic of the arrangement of the given example carefully.

We have to arrange the given input sentence into output sentence step by step manner by following the specific rule illustrated in the given example.

Usually by observing many example problems from the previous bank exam test papers. Here, we are providing some of the general logics of input problems under reasoning section.

  1. In some problems, alphabets are arranging as per dictionary as it is or in reverse order.
  2. Numbers are arranged in descending or ascending order.
  3. Interchanging the positions of the words and numbers.

Note:  There is no fixed no. of rules defined in this type of questions. Every set of questions follows a unique & specific rule defined in the example input rearrangement.

So, you have to check out the logic behind the given example problem and solve the given questions accordingly.

Example 1:

Study the given information to answer the given questions.

Observe the following step by step arrangement of words and numbers in the given example and understand carefully the specific rule behind those arrangements and follow that rule in solving the given input to answer the questions relatedly.

Input: sony 28 has 19 95 45 lucy nancy 76 rosy

step1: has sony 28 19 45 lucy nancy 76 rosy 95.

(Explanation: smallest alphabetical word(has) as per dictionary arrangements  is moved to first and biggest number (95) is moved to last  and no change with other words and numbers they remain as it is)

step 2: lucy has sony 28 19 45 nancy rosy 95 76.

(Explanation: Next smallest alphabetical word (lucy) is moved to first and next biggest number (76)  moved to last )

step 3: nancy lucy has sony 28 19  rosy 95 76 45.

(Explanation: Next smallest alphabetical word (nancy) is moved to first and next biggest number (45)  moved to last )

Step4: rosy nancy lucy has sum 19 95 76 45 28.

(same as in the last step – next smallest word and next biggest number) 

step 5: sony rosy nancy lucy has 96 76 45 28 19.

And step 5 is the last(output) step of the rearrangement for the given input sentence.

Step 1: Point out the smallest alphabet and biggest number and arrange as shown in the example rearrangement.

Step 2: Highlight next biggest number smaller than 87 and alphabet after air as per dictionary order in step 1 and rearrange this in step 2.

Step 3: Highlight next biggest number and smaller than 81 and alphabet after can  as per dictionary order in step 2 and rearrange this in step 2.

Step 3: Identify and mark next biggest number and smaller than 54 and alphabet after lazy as per dictionary order in step 2 and rearrange this in step 2.

Step 4:  Continue the same logic used in step 3.
