Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT)  is an apex organization which is fully owned by govt. of India and it is located on the west coast of India. Recently it has released direct recruitment notification for filling the vacant posts in MbPT.

Class I: Post Details

1. Assistant Traffic Manager Grade-I

Class II: Post Details

4. Accounts Officer Grade I

5. Assistant Security Officer

Pay scale: Rs.16400-40500

Class III: Post Details

1. Junior Engineer Grade III

Salary Details: Rs.19100-51100

2. Junior Engineer Grade III (Mech)

Salary: Rs.19100-51100.

3. Junior Engineer Gr III (Elect)

Salary: Rs.19100-51100.

4. Junior Engineer Grade IV

Salary: Rs.17700-44600

Min. Age and Max. Age (as on 01/02/2016):

For Class I Posts: Below 30 years.

(The candidates born between 02/02/1986 and 01/02/1998 can apply).

For Class II Posts: Above 23 years and Below 30 years.

For Class III Posts: Above 18 years and Below 30 years.

Age Relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per govt. rules:

For SC/STs- 5 yrs.

For OBCs-3 yrs.

Note: The candidates who are getting age relaxation should submit the required documents at the time of interview or at any stage of recruitment process.


Educational Qualifications & Experience Details: (As on 01/02/2016):

CLASS I:

  1. Assistant Traffic Manager GRADE-I:

Essential Qualification: – Any Degree (from Recognized University):

Desirable Qualification:- 2 years of experience in shipping/ cargo operations/railway transportation etc.,

  1. Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical /Electrical)

Essential Qualification: Graduation in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

Desirable Qualification: 2 years of relevant experience in an Industrial/ Commercial/ Govt. Undertaking.

  1. Assistant Estate Manager Grade I

Essential Qualification: – Degree and PG degree/ diploma in Architecture/ Town and country planning or degree in civil engineering.

Required Qualification: –Having Degree in LAW Course from recognized university.

  • 2yrs of experience.

4. Accounts Officer Grade I

Essential Qualification: – Chartered Accountants (CA).

Desirable Qualification:- 2 years of experience in the field of Finance. Accounting in an Industrial/ Commercial/ Govt. Undertaking.

CLASS II:

  1. Assistant Security Officer:

Essential QualificationHaving Degree (Arts, Science or Commerce or Law). And also, should have proficiency (read, write & speak) in Marathi, Hindi, and English.

Desirable Qualification:

NCC Certificate / Service Experience.

Minimum Physical requirements: Height: 165 cms, Chest: 81 cms & Weight: 50 kg.

CLASS III

1.Junior Engineer Grade III

Essential Qualification: Diploma (Electronics/Electrical/Telecommunication/ Networking/ Computer Technology) with min. 2 years of experience.

2 Junior Engineer Grade III (Mechanical/Electrical)

Required Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering From recognized University or Institute.

3. Junior Engineer Grade IV

Required Qualification: SSC, Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile or Textile Engineering.

Desirable Qualification: 3 years of experience

Important Notice for Applicants:

  1. The candidates who are applying for class III category posts should have to register with local employment exchange.
  1. The candidates mentioned education details should be from recognized universities and also, should have valid mark-sheets and experience certificates as on 01/02/2016.

Online Exam Pattern:

I. For Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical), Accounts Officer Grade I & Assistant Estate Manager Grade-I:

  1. Technical Questions (120 marks) (60 questions)
  2. Test of Reasoning & General Awareness (30 marks) (30 Questions)
  3. Quantitative Aptitude (25 marks) (25 questions)
  4. English Language (25 marks) (25 questions)

Total (200 marks) (140 questions)  and Total Time Allotted: 2 hours

II. for Assistant Traffic Manager Grade I & Assistant Security Officer:

  1. Test of Reasoning  (50 marks) (50 Questions).
  2. Test of Quantitative Aptitude (50 Marks) (50 Questions)
  3. English Language (50 Marks) (50 Questions)
  4. Test of General Awareness (50 marks) (50 Questions)

Total 200 (marks) (200 questions). Total Time Allotted: 2 hours

III. for Junior Engineer Grade III, Junior Engineer Grade III (Mechanical/Electrical) & Junior Engineer Grade IV:

  1. Technical questions (100 marks) (50 questions)
  2. Test of Reasoning & General Awareness (30 marks) (30 questions)
  3. Quantitative Aptitude (40 marks) (40 questions)
  4. English Language  (30 marks) (30 questions)

Total (200 marks) (150 questions). Total Time Allotted: 2 hours

Note 1: Medium of Online Exam: English.

Note 2: Mumbai Port Trust has the right to modify the structure of the Online test.

Qualifying Marks/ Cut off Marks: (Section wise cutoff marks are considered).

The candidate who has got 35% marks in each section separately for shortlisting to further round of selection.

Selection Process for Mumbai Port Trust Recruitment – 2016

For Class I & II posts:

 1. Online Exam.

2. Personal Interview.

Final selection for the vacant posts will be decided based on the candidate’s performance in the online exam and personal interview.

For Class III posts:

  1. Online Exam.
  2. Document Verification & Interview.

Others – Rs. 500.

 How to Register & Apply Online:

The candidates who are interested in applying for the mentioned posts should read instructions & eligibility details given in the advert. And apply for the posts before the last date by following the instructions.

Note: To apply for Class III posts. The candidate should have valid registration in local Employment Exchange from MbPT website under ‘Vacancy’ menu.

Pre-Requisites for Applying Online: Before applying online,  The candidates should-

(I) Need to have scanned copy of Photo & Signature.

(ii) Valid personal Email-Id and Phone number.

(iii) In the case of Class III posts,  The candidate needs to register in the Local the Employment Exchange.

Procedure for applying online:

  1. Go to Mumbai Port Trust official website  and then go to Vacancy tab.
  1. Click “APPLY ONLINE”.
  2. You can find the link as “Click here for New Registration” and fill the details as in the application (Name, Contact Info, and Email-id)

Note down the Registration number and password for further reference.

4. The applicant should have to upload scanned copies of  photo & Signature.

  1. And fill other details of the Application Form.
  1. Preview and verify the details.
  2. Click submit button.
  3. Pay the application from the ‘Payment’ Tab
  4. Click on ‘Submit’ button, E-receipt will be generated  after completion of the transaction.
  5. Finally, take the hard copy of submitted application form containing all details.
  6. Note: No. of Vacancies in different categories may vary at any stage of recruitment process.The qualified candidates can apply multiple posts with multiple applications with separate fee and cannot apply twice for the same post. If so, the applicant’s candidature should be invalid.

Documents Needed At the Time of Interview:(For Class I  and Class II  Category Posts):

The following documents in original and self-attested photocopies.

  1. Interview Call Letter.
  2. Hard Copy of Online Application.
  3. Hard Copy of Payment e-receipt.
  4. Birth Certificate/ X class Mark-sheet.
  5. Photo-Id  Proof.
  6. Mark-sheets & required documents as indicated against concerned posts.
  7. Caste Certificate (for SC / ST / OBC  candidates)
  8. Experienced Candidates are required to produce a “No Objection certificate” from the previous employer.
  9. Experience certificates as applicable and indicated against concerned posts.
