Comparison of two fractions:

Eg: Compare, 3/4, and 1/4.

By seeing itself, we can say 3/4 is big. Implement here our logic of cross multiplication of two fractions.

¾ ¼ we get, 12 and 4 we know 12 > 4 so we can say ¾ >1/4

• Average = sum of elements/ no. of elements  (or) (a1 + a2 + a3 + a4 +………… an)/n
• Sum of first n odd numbers:   1 + 3 + 5 + ………… + (2n-1)= n2
• Sum of first n even numbers:  2 + 4 + 6 + …………+ 2n = n (n+1).
• Sum of first n natural numbers: 1+2+3 +4 + ……..+n = n(n+1)/2.
• Sum of squares of first n natural numbers: 12 + 22 + 32 + 42 + 52 + 62 + …………+n2 = [n (n+1)(2n+1)]/6.
• Sum of cubes of first n natural numbers:  13 + 23+33 + 43 + …… + n= [n(n+1)/2]2
