SBI PO Selection Process, SBI PO Exam Dates and Exam Pattern
The selection of probationary officers in State Bank of India consists three phases – Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and the final selection of candidates based on the candidate’s performance purely on merit basis by SBI PO Recruitment Board by following the rules and regulations under SBI PO Selection Process 2018. SBI PO Selection Process 2019
India’s largest commercial bank State Bank of India has released the recruitment notification to fill up probationary posts in different branches of SBI. The SBI PO Selection process involves 3 phases – (1) Online Preliminary Examination, (2) Online Mains Examination and (3) Group Discussion/Personal Interview.
Phase-I: SBI PO Preliminary Examination:
The SBI PO Prelims exam consists 100 objective type questions asked for 100 marks and to finish the exam in 1-hour time duration and will be conducted in online.
The 100 questions are asked under 3 sections –
1) English (30 Questions, 30 Marks)
2) Quantitative Aptitude (35 Questions, 35 Marks)
3) Reasoning Ability (35 Questions, 35 Marks)
Total – 100 Questions for 100 Marks to finish the test in 1 hour.
The preliminary exam is only conducted for qualifying nature to promote into next level of the recruitment process that is SBI PO Mains Examination to shortlist the huge number of applications. These marks are not counted in the final selection. The candidate needs to get qualifying marks in each section as well as overall cut off marks.Those candidates only selected for next level – SBI PO Main Examination.
The date of SBI PO Mains Exam will be on 4th June 2017.
The SBI Recruitment panel will shortlist the applicants nearly 20 times that of the available SBI PO vacancies. That means, they shortlist around 50000 candidates are shortlisted to write the main examination.
Phase – II: SBI PO Main Examination Pattern – (1) Objective Test and (2) Descriptive Exam.
This exam consists objective type test for 200 marks and Descriptive test for totally the main examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks
Both Objective tests, as well as the Descriptive test, will be conducted in online mode.
(1) Objective Type Test: In this exam, totally 155 questions are asked under 4 sections
for 200 marks. The candidates need to get qualifying marks in each section as well as overall passing marks set by the SBI Bank recruitment board.
1. Reasoning and Computer Aptitude – 45 Questions, 60 Marks, 60 Minutes
2. Data Analysis and Data Interpretation (DI) – 35 Questions, 60 Marks, 45 Minutes
3. General Banking & Financial Awareness – 40 Questions, 40 Marks, 35 Minutes
4. General English Language – 35 Questions, 40 Marks, 40 Minutes
Total – 155 Questions 200 Marks 3 hours
(ii) Descriptive Test: This test will be conducted for 50 marks in 30 minutes time duration.
(1) This exam will be examined for only those candidates who got qualifying marks in SBI PO Mains Objective Test.
(2) There will be penalty marks cut for wrong answers in both Prelims and Mains Online Test.
Phase – III: Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
Group Discussion (20 marks) and Personal Interview (30 marks)
The candidates who have been shortlisted for the Main Examination in both objective and Descriptive will be called for Group Discussion and Interview.
Note: The OBC candidates need to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy layer’ clause not to treat under General category at the time of Personal Interview.

SBI PO Final Result 2019:
After completing the three phases of the SBI PO recruitment process- Prelims, Mains, Group Exercises and Interview process. Finally, The recruitment team will shortlist the selected candidates and update the final results in the official website of the State Bank of India.
